The Torquay Community Enterprise (TCE) is an initiative of the Bendigo Bank.

Funding is administered by an independent Board of Directors who are all local community members. The enterprise is currently chaired by Dean Webster.

If you are interested in applying to become a director of the enterprise, please email your resume and a cover letter to robert.harris@bendigobank.com.au explaining how you would like to contribute to community capacity building.

The enterprise funds projects and events that support the following:

  • Families in need
  • Educational opportunities
  • Equity for all abilities
  • Youth programs
  • A better quality of life for our seniors
  • Sport and recreation initiatives
  • Healthy communities in mind, body and spirit
  • The development of local arts and crafts programs
  • Environmental conservation and awareness
  • The promotion of local talent.

The first round of grant applications for 2012 is now open.

Applications close at 12 noon on Wednesday, 6 June 2012.

Grants will be handed over at a function at the Wyndham Resort, Torquay from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, 21 June 2012. Successful groups will be notified and must be present to receive their grants.

Applications are open to not-for-profit organisations in Torquay, Jan Juc,
Connewarre, Freshwater Creek and Bellbrae.

Aim of TCE

The TCE launched towards the end of 2007 with the aim of funding local projects which are run by the community, and are designed to directly benefit the community. It acts as an independent body supporting individuals and families, youth and senior citizens through educational, sporting, arts and environmental initiatives at a grassroots level.

Partner highlight

GMHBA is a silver sponsor of the Torquay Community Enterprise for 2012. The health provider has contributed $2,500 to go to a local community project which promotes health and wellbeing.

The Wyndham Resort, Torquay is hosting the TCE grants handover function in December and also sponsoring two great prizes on the night: one night’s accommodation for two people or dinner for two in their Sea Salt Restaurant.
